ABOUT ME

I began my writing career with a letter to the editor of a dirt bike magazine, complaining about the fact that I was being left to bring up three children while my hard working husband was off riding his bike in his free time. This tongue-in-cheek letter led to a monthly column and gave me the courage to pursue my dream of writing.

Since 2000 I have worked as a freelance writer and photographer working on various national magazines and newspapers, even working as editor for a regional paper for a short time, before common sense prevailed and I realised it was more fun helping on the farm and writing purely freelance.

When my sister was approached by publishers to write her memoir, she said "Yes, as long as my sister writes it!", which led me into the wonderful world of books. I have now written three books and helped ghost write a fourth.

Since 'Love, Sweat & Tears' was published in 2013, Zelie and I were asked to scipt and narrate an audio tour for the Australian War Memoiral First World War gallery on the subject of 'Animals at War', and I am currently involved in a joint playwriting experience funded by Arts NSW, with 'The Basin' to be performed around New South Wales in 2016 - alongide the release of 'The Amazing Mrs Livesey'.

I have ghost written three biographies and 'Outback Teacher' was released in 2022. Next book will be out August 2023, and she is another incredible Australian woman - stay tuned.
